The project “Apples and Ciders from the South of the world” was born upon a glance towards a particular sector influenced by unique natural factors in a world characterized by: climatic characteristics, an evergreen forest commonly called Valdivian jungle in a rainy temperate climate, and a privileged productive environment for the development of a cider industry, which already has an important trajectory in the “Los Ríos Region”.

The project is expected to strengthen the economic and social development of the cider industry in southern Chile, enhancing the value proposition of this sector based on a heritage asset and collaborative networks, therefore the main objective of “Apples and Ciders from the South of the World” is to promote the strengthening of the entrepreneurial and innovation environment of the cider industry in the “Los Ríos” Region, supporting the economic and social development of the cider industry in southern Chile and boosting the value proposition of this sector as a biopatrimonial asset that is developed through associative collaboration networks.

This project is financed by “Fomento los Ríos” and led by Andes Value Research, within the organization there are also the School of the Senses, the Manzaneros Union from “los Ríos” and the Farming and Cider Cooperative from “los Ríos”.
